Project title: A Systematic Assessment of Rehabilitation Situation in Ontario

Project background: The Rehabilitation 2030 initiative (developed in 2017 by the WHO) draws attention to the profound unmet need for rehabilitation worldwide and highlights the importance of strengthening health systems to provide rehabilitation worldwide. Despite the extensive literature supporting the cost-effectiveness of rehabilitation, little is known about the current state of MSK Rehabilitation in Ontario. There is an information gap concerning infrastructure, financing and human resources and whether Ontario is meeting the rehabilitation needs for Ontarians.

Project objectives: The objective of this project is to produce a high-quality, situational assessment report (using the WHO STARS Tool) and a systematic review of the literature of what is currently known about MSK Rehabilitation in Ontario across the continuum of care.
