Project title: Exploring disability related to pain among Indigenous peoples in Canada
Project background: Indigenous peoples are often disproportionately affected by disability which can act as a barrier towards achieving optimal health. In Canada, pain is the leading cause of disability among First Nations, Inuit, and Métis. To date, limited research is available to understand the extent and impact of pain-related disabilities among First Nations, Inuit, and Métis. Working collaboratively with Indigenous peoples, we aim to fill this important knowledge gap.
Project objectives: To investigate the magnitude of, and factors associated with pain-related disabilities among First Nations, Inuit, and Métis in Canada.
